Shipping I am sorry at this time we can not ship single blade locking folding knives to the city and county (bourghs) of New York city. The rest of the state is fine. Hopefully things will work out and we can resume normal shipping rather then ship to friends who then have to forward packages in to New York. This DA is costing the state more then the little money he brought in. My 2 cents!
Shipping: We ship world wide. For USA anyone can help you in the shop. For international only Dan or Yuko at this time can do international orders. Email dan@plazacutlery.com UPS is our primary shipper and they pick up each day around 3PM. For International, Next day and 2 day shipping we can call them back out but the order needs to be in by 4PM PST otherwise the package will ship the next day.
FedEx is also available but we do not use them as much as UPS is our standard shipper so it does cost more. Ask and I will get the rate for you. Again as we do not use it as much Dan and Yuko have to process the request.
USPS "United States Postal Service" can also ship. This is the least expensive way of shipping but you get what you pay for. For USA shipments we have had pretty good luck, but it is always a gamble. We insure everything for US and if you request not having it insured it is at your risk. No refund or credit will be offered but we will sympathize with you. For international there is no insurance so is at your risk. USPS International "United States Postal Service International Express or Priority" is also available. Again you get what you pay for and while it is cheaper you take the risk that it may not make it. If not fully insured it is at your risk and if lost all that can be recovered is the shipping on Express and what ever is insured. There is no coverage on Priority or First Class mail so there is no refund or credit. Also the insured amount can not exceed the value for customs, they must be the same. While we have only lost 1 package so far in the United Kingdom it is pretty safe but always a gamble.
On most international orders, if you are doing low value we can send your sales recite separate and the cost is $1.
"USA Shipping" UPS Next Day, 2 day, 3 day and ground are all available! Call for rate! 866-827-5292 "Next Day" is delivered by 10:30 AM where available and "Next Day Saver" By 7PM but has limited availability and only saves a few dollars!
NOTE USPS SERVICE HAS RAISED PRICES! AS we are close to having the new website done please email for a total if you need an exact price. We go by our cost plus a small handling fee. We keep it as low as we can. We now ship USPS out of the shop and our pick up is changing. We can drop packages off at the post office on our way home, also depending on, when we get out of the shop that day. We always try and ship same day but it does depend on the time. Prices can very from below: USPS Express $28 No insurance but has a tracking number (over night most areas day after we ship it, but some areas can be 2 days) USPS Priority small flat rate box $5.95 No insurance and no tracking number 2 day service most areas USPS Priority Medium Flat Rate Box $12.00 No insurance and no tracking number Insurance will increase the price

Most Countries USPS Express (can add insurance) $50 to $60, Canada less , USPS Priority Small Flat Rate box no insurance about $27.50 to low $30 USPS Priority Small Flat Mid $30 but no insurance Larger Priority shipments are more. Email for an exact price.
** Russia and South Africa we have to go to the post office so can take a few days to ship and there is an extra fee as it can take up to an hour of waiting in our area. * Germany we place an invoice on the outside of the package for what ever value requested. Note these are not the smartest people working in customs and in some cases they can not find it and if the package is return, we will refund the merchandise, but not the shipping. Would suggest UPS or FedEx as you can save on duty (if you like to play that game), and just pay more for shipping, and it does not take near as long. I have heard customs taking up to a month to clear a package and have had them go through in just a day or two if they open the invoice.
First Class can very around the world but on average is $13-15 plus $10 as we need to go to the post office to ship it. So it will not ship right away and they do not quote time and no insurance is available. It can be registered for an additional $12. This is up to an hour of time to go to do and return back to the shop. If we get a few will split the cost but is rarely requested.
