Evening of the Cutlery Arts 2008

At the Costa Mesa Hilton

October 3rd 2008

Keep Friday October 3TH open of 2008 open to attend the show! it is the most fun of any show you could attend!

"Evening of the Cutlery Arts" will be Friday October the 3rd form 5PM to 9:30PM in the "Catalina Ballroom"
This is a lot of fun and worth the trip! So many great knives and people!

"Plaza Cutlery Custom Knife Show" will be held Saturday October 4Th form 10AM to 4PM in the "Catalina Ballroom". See additional page for more information!

We are going home!!!!

Our NEW location this year is the Costa Mesa Hilton which is the hotel I had the "California Custom Knife Show" at for a number of years when it was a Red Lion,

then a Double Tree. Blade West was also held here for a number of years. The hotel has changed over the years and we have a similar set up as we did in Huntington Beach

with outdoor balconies. The show will be in the new Catalina Ballroom on the lobby floor and not in the basement exhibit rooms. Same format as past shows but the show will

be in the same room both days. Makers will have the option to move their table out side on the balcony if they want to. Show includes a drawing slip for each knife in Fridays show, carving station

with turkey, beef, pasta and other goodies which will fill you for dinner, few door prized donated by varies companies such as SureFire, J. A. Henckels, Wustof Cutlery and others to be announced

as well as Addison to Saturday's show.

This show is different then most other shows. Every person has an equal opportunity to get drawn. Each maker will have from 3 to 8 knives for sale. They will all be drawings and a few bid knives.

You have a couple hours to inspect all the knives and place your name in the box of any knife you are interested in. At the appointed time the makers will draw the name of the person who owns

the right to buy that knife and will have 15 minutes to confirm the purchase. If the collector has to pass on a knife the maker will then draw a 2nd name and 3RD name to finish the drawings.

After that the maker is free to sell the knife to who ever would like to purchase it.

As we make up drawing books we have to have payment as soon as possible. There will be only so many books available so do not wait. We will have some blank ones left over

but you run the risk of being left out. it also makes it easier for us to get the work done earlier!

Show rate for "Evening of the Cutlery Arts" and also includes additional to Saturdays Show "Plaza Cutlery Knife Show".  $80 if paid by August 31st!  After September first will $95.

Cancellations\refund made by August 31st will be refunded less $10 fee. Cancellations September 1ST through the show will not be made unless the show sells out and all the books

are resold. A $25 fee will be charged. Any questions please let me know. Please send check or money order, Sorry no credit cards!

General Information

Show dates will change for the next show in 2006

This is a special event to be held Friday October 6th 2006 in the evening before the “Plaza Cutlery Custom Knife Show”. It is different then most other shows so please read the info below! The last two shows went very well!

For this event each maker is required to bring 4 to 8 special knives. They are to be something usual, new models, proto-types or one of kinds. Each maker will have a description as to what materials were used in the knife & also the price. All the collectors will have from 5PM to 8:15PM to view all the knives in the show. Each collector upon entering the show will have a booklet that has an “intent to purchase slip” that will correspond to each knife in the show. If the collector is interested in any of the knives he then deposits the slip in the box next to the knife.

At 8:15PM the knifemakers will draw the names of the collectors who will then have 20 minutes to make all their purchase. At that time a redraw will be done for any knives still available. So it will go until all knives are sold and any left, the knifemakers can then sell them to whom they wish.

In addition to the normal knives held for the drawings the Knifemakers can offer two knives as an open bid or sealed bid. Open bid is a listing with the price changing through the evening. Sealed bid will go to the highest offer placed. This is held at 8PM.

There will also be plenty of food served for your evening meal & a cash bar.

Buyers are limited as are the knifemakers so plan to attend as soon as you can! We are now taking admission payments.

Admission is for both Friday night "Evening of the Cutlery Arts" & Saturday the "Plaza Cutlery Custom Knife Show" is (not set yet) per person. Remember space is limited) Refunds less $5 service fee can be made up until 8/15/06 or put towards the next show. Admission is for both shows only. A limited amount of non-buyers (spouses) will be admitted at (not set yet) per person.

Payment is by check or money order only! Please send to the store & "Attention Dan"! You can now make your reservation now! Your cancelled check is your recite or include your e-mail address & I will let you know we received your payment

Any questions let me know!

Thank you!
